Justyna Neyman Duftart Exhibition in Barcelona: An Invitation
04/25/15 06:39:42
Dear Friends, Art and Perfume Lovers! Starting Tuesday, the 28th of April 2015, there will be an exhibition held in Barcelona, Spain during wich you can simultaneously enjoy the art of perfumery and the art of painting.
The exhibition by a Polish painter Justyna Neyman (diploma from Prof. Janusz Stanny’s Studio of Book Illustration, the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, 1996) includes two cycles of her paintings: Duftart and Damsels—almost 50 works altogether.
Duftart—fragrant paintings.
The essence of Duftart is the possibility to simultaneously view and enjoy a painting and smell the fragrance (placed near it) by which it was inspired. Duftart is a novel style, a trend with a future—who knows, maybe some day there will be a group of artists who will “illustrate” scents.

"You might say that I treat perfumes and scents like the books which I illustrate—this is my natural way of expression. Perfumes, together with their history and the community gathered around them, are as close to me as painting. I consider fragrances—naturally—to be a field of art, and a very fascinating one, with their transience on the one hand and a strong effect on the subconscious on the other."—Justyna Neyman
The opening of the exhibition at CC Drassanes (Carrer Nou de la Rambla, 43, 08001 Barcelona, Spain) is on Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at 7.30 pm and the exhibition will last for a month, until May 28. Mrs. Justyna Neyman kindly invites all Fragrantica readers to come and enjoy this unique opportunity. You can meet her in Barcelona from April 28 until May 9 and on the closing day. You can find more information on Justyna Neyman and her works at her official website http://neyman.pl/en/.
